COMET - COmbo Ethernet Tester
About
This implementation shows usage of COMBO-LXT card as an Ethernet tester for speeds
above 10 Gb/s. The COMBO-LXT card (containing
FPGA Virtex-5) and adapted NetCOPE project were used as the main im
plementation plafrom. This project was developed during Liberouter project at
CESNET z.s.p.o. This work is desrcribed in detail in my diploma thesis
[pdf] and CESNET
technical report [pdf].

- Statistics of input network traffic (10Gb/s)
- Number of received bytes
- Number of received packets
- Number of discarded packets
- Sum of sizes of received packets
- Number of packets in sum
- Number of packets above MTU
- Number of packets below MTU
- Maximal/Minimal size of packet
- Miminal/Maximal XGMII gap between packets
- Analysis of one-way delay
- Order analysis
- Histogram of observed parameters (such as size of packets, one-way delay, etc.)
- Traffic generation from saved PCAP file
- Traffic repeating with nanosecond precision
- Relative/Absolute mode of packet repeating
- Possibility of insertion of special header which is used for order analysis
